Through the 4ESO+Empresa program, IMDEA Nanociencia brings the research profession closer to students

IMDEA Nanoscience is hosting six students from Greenwich School (Alcobendas), IES Ramiro de Maeztu (Madrid), and Colegio Alkor (Alcorcón) through the 4ESO+Empresa program.
For a week, the students have been immersed in research activities, under the guidance of scientists from IMDEA Nanociencia.

Madrid, 27 de marzo, 2026. Yesterday, Thursday, the 4th-Year Secondary School + Business program came to a close at IMDEA Nanociencia. The program aims to introduce secondary school students to the scientific ecosystem by having them actively participate in the various research projects currently underway across a range of disciplines.

Over the course of three days, the students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with various scientific concepts. The participants come from Greenwich School (Alcobendas), IES Ramiro de Maeztu and from Alkor School (Alcorcón).

The following research groups from IMDEA Nanociencia collaborated: “Molecular Metallodrugs,” led by Ana Pizarro; “Switchable Nanomaterials,” led by José Sánchez Costa; “Nanoscale Imaging of 2D Materials,” led by Manuela Garnica and Fabián Calleja; and “Nanocarbon and Organic Photovoltaics,” led by Nazario Martín and Javier Urieta.
